Two different things can bring you here: you contacted us, or we contacted you. They involve different data and different rights, so they are answered separately below.

If you contacted us
Data you gave us
When you use the contact form we collect your name, your email address, and whatever you write in the message. We use it to reply to you and to have the conversation you asked for. Nothing else.
Why we are allowed to hold it
You asked us to get in touch, so we rely on legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you initiated.
Where it goes
Into our Google Workspace mailbox, and nowhere else. We do not sell it, share it, or add you to a mailing list. There is no marketing list to be added to.
How long we keep it
Two years from your last message, so we still have the context if you come back. Ask us to delete it sooner and we will.
If we contacted you
Data we found about you
If you received an unsolicited email from us, you are entitled to know exactly where your details came from. Here it is.
What we hold
Your name and role where they are published, your work email address, your company name and registration number, and notes from a technical review of your public website.
Where we got it
Your own publicly published website, and the Companies House public register. We do not buy contact data, and we do not use data brokers.
Why we are allowed to hold it
Legitimate interests: contacting UK businesses about a specific, evidenced problem we found on their own website. We only contact limited companies and LLPs, we contact one person per organisation, and we cap the volume deliberately.
How long we keep it
Twelve months, or until you ask us to stop — whichever comes first. If you opt out we keep only your email address, permanently, on a suppression list. That single record is what guarantees we never contact you again.
To stop hearing from us
Reply STOP to any email, or write to hello@lumiuo.com. It takes effect immediately and permanently. You do not have to give a reason, and we will not ask for one.
Everyone
Your rights
Whichever of the two applies to you, you can ask us for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to restrict what we do with it. Email hello@lumiuo.com and we will respond within one month.
The right to object to direct marketing is absolute. If you object, we stop. There is no balancing test and no discretion on our side.
If we get it wrong
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or call them on 0303 123 1113. We would rather you raised it with us first so we can fix it, but that is your choice, not a requirement.
Practicalities
Cookies and processors
This site uses Google Analytics to count visits. It sets cookies and records a truncated IP address. It tells us how many people came and which pages they read. It does not tell us who you are.
Two companies process data on our behalf: Google, which hosts our email, and Vercel, which hosts this website. Both are bound by contract to process it only on our instructions.
